Daniel from Bureau Wijn

The first wine speciality shop in BoLo, inviting you to a living room feel and a list of natural and artisan wines that will make your mouth water. Bureau Wijn set off to set the standards for wine in the neighbourhood, and since they opened their doors in early 2018, they’ve become the go-to-pace for wine drinkers both in and outside Bos en Lommer. We chatted with owner Daniel about his vision and what we should be drinking right now.

 

Q: In a few sentences, tell us about Bureau Wijn.

A: Bureau Wijn is a small boutique wine shop in Bos en Lommer. With its living room feel, I seek to be a hotspot in the neighbourhood. Importantly, I only sell wines I like.


Q: What about You personally, why are you working with this? What's your story?

A: After a career in science and public administration, I decided to convert my hobby into my job. And as a kid I started crying when we entered a fish or cheese shop. The smell!!


Q: What is your favourite bottle in your store right now, and Why should we all buy one?

A: La Carrée from Henri Milan. Grilled pineapple, very concentrated fruit, well dosed volatile acidity and a whiff of brett.

(It’s the ultimate MOOD BOOSTER wine.) Whenever I feel down, I'd vaporise a bit of the wine and be happy.


Q: From your shop right now, name a bottle that you consider to be perfect for IMPRESSING YOUR WINE LOVING FRIENDS.

A: Babba from Maurer. The wine has fermented on an amalgam of grapes in three consecutive years. Orange wine to the third power!
